juniIsisSysDomainAuthenticationPwd

Module: Juniper-ISIS-MIB

OID (symbolic): Juniper-ISIS-MIB::juniIsisSysDomainAuthenticationPwd

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4874.2.2.38.1.1.7.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-write

Description: The value to be used as the Authentication Key in Level 2 Link State Packets whenever the value of juniIsisSysDomainAuthenticationKeyType has a value of plaintext or hmacMd5. A modification of juniIsisSysDomainAuthenticationKeyType does not modify the juniIsisSysDomainAuthenticationPwd value.

Reading this object always results in an OCTET STRING of length zero; authentication may not be bypassed by reading the MIB object.

What is juniIsisSysDomainAuthenticationPwd?

Write-mostly octet string (0-20 bytes, default empty) holding the Level 2 (domain/backbone) authentication key, the Level 2 counterpart of juniIsisSysAreaAuthenticationPwd; reading it always returns zero length so the secret can't be retrieved over SNMP. Admins configure this to protect backbone-level LSPs and SNPs with a shared secret.
