juniIsisSysAreaAuthenticationPwd
Module: Juniper-ISIS-MIB
OID (symbolic): Juniper-ISIS-MIB::juniIsisSysAreaAuthenticationPwd
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4874.2.2.38.1.1.6.1.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: OCTET STRING
Access: read-write
Description: The value to be used as the Authentication Key in Level 1 Link State Packets whenever the value of juniIsisSysAreaAuthenticationKeyType has a value of plaintext or hmacMd5. A modification of juniIsisSysAreaAuthenticationKeyType does not modify the juniIsisSysAreaAuthenticationPwd value.
Reading this object always results in an OCTET STRING of length zero; authentication may not be bypassed by reading the MIB object.
What is juniIsisSysAreaAuthenticationPwd?
Write-mostly octet string (0-20 bytes, default empty) holding the Level 1 authentication key used when juniIsisSysAreaAuthenticationKeyType is plaintext or hmacMd5; per the description, reading it always returns a zero-length string so the password can't be recovered via SNMP. Admins set this to configure the shared secret protecting Level 1 LSPs and SNPs within the area.
