Module: Juniper-HOST-MIB

OID (symbolic): Juniper-HOST-MIB::juniHostUserPassword

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4874.2.2.33.1.1.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-create

Description: The password associated with this host entry. Reading this object returns a null DisplayString to avoid security breaches. However, a null string is not accepted for create or write operations.

What is juniHostUserPassword?

This object holds the password used together with juniHostUserName when the device logs into this host entry's FTP server. For security, an SNMP GET always returns an empty string instead of revealing the stored password, though a SET operation still requires a genuinely non-empty value to configure or change it. For example, an admin can SET a real password when creating the host entry, but a subsequent GET on this object will only ever show a blank string.
