juniAaaAuthMethods

Module: Juniper-AAA-MIB

OID (symbolic): Juniper-AAA-MIB::juniAaaAuthMethods

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4874.2.2.20.1.2.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-write

Description: The set of authentication protocols configured on this system. Each octet in this object contains one of the values defined in the JuniAaaAuthenticationMethods TEXTUAL-CONVENTION. The system will sequence through each octet of this object starting at octet 1 and attempt to use the corresponding authentication protocol defined by JuniAaaAuthenticationMethods. Note that if the octet is set to: protocolNone(4) Then authentication does not take place. If an authentication protocol is configured and attempts to reach the authentication server fail, the system will move to the next octet in this object and retry the authentication in the form dictated by the corresponding authentication protocoltype. The process of sequencing thru each octet will stop if the authentication server is successfully contacted, or there are no more configured octets in this object.

What is juniAaaAuthMethods?

Obsolete, system-wide object that once listed, one octet at a time, the ordered sequence of authentication protocols (per JuniAaaAuthenticationMethods) the router would try for remote-access logins, falling through to the next octet on failure and stopping at protocolNone. It has been replaced by the per-subscriber-type juniAaaAuthMethodsTable, which lets different subscriber types have different authentication method sequences.
