This OID shows the priority value that a neighboring router assigned itself for becoming the designated intermediate system (the primary decision point in an IS-IS network). Higher priority values mean that neighbor is more likely to be selected as the main router. An operator checks this to understand the network topology design and verify that the intended primary routers have appropriately high priority values.
