Description: This attribute describes the Event Logging Capabilities. The attribute value can be : Unknown, Unsupported, Active, or Inactive. If the Event logging capability is Active, the BIOS logs the system errors to the FLASH. The LSC reads this FLASH log and takes appropriate actions. If this feature is Inactive, the LSC will read the values from the system registers directly. The Event logging capability can be set to Active or Inactive using the System Configuration Utility (SCU).
What is a1004EventLoggingCapability?
Describes whether BIOS-level event logging is vActive(2) or vInactive(3) (or vUnknown(0)/vUnsupported(1)); per the source description, when Active the BIOS logs errors to FLASH for the management software to read, and when Inactive the management software reads system registers directly instead. An admin checks this, set via the System Configuration Utility, to know which error-collection path is in effect on this system.
