ieee8021TsnRemoteMgmtTxPropagationDelay
Module: IEEE8021-TSN-REMOTE-MANAGEMENT-MIB
OID (symbolic): IEEE8021-TSN-REMOTE-MANAGEMENT-MIB::ieee8021TsnRemoteMgmtTxPropagationDelay
OID (numeric): 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.32.1.2.1.1.1
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Unsigned32
Access: read-only
Description: This attribute provides the transmission propagation delay.
The propagation delay begins when the message timestamp point of an egress frame passes the reference plane marking the boundary between the network media and PHY. It ends when the message timestamp point of an ingress frame on the neighboring Bridge's Port passes the reference plane marking the boundary between the network media and PHY. The message timestamp point is specified by IEEE Std 802.1AS for various media.
What is ieee8021TsnRemoteMgmtTxPropagationDelay?
This read-only value reports the propagation delay of the physical link connecting this port to its neighboring bridge, measured from when a frame leaves this port's PHY to when it arrives at the neighbor's PHY. TSN network engineers add this wire-time delay to each hop's forwarding delay to build an accurate end-to-end latency model for scheduled traffic across a multi-hop path. For example, a long fiber run between two bridges might show ieee8021TsnRemoteMgmtTxPropagationDelay of several microseconds, compared to a near-zero value for a short copper link between adjacent rack-mounted switches.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.32.1.2.1.1.1 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> IEEE8021-TSN-REMOTE-MANAGEMENT-MIB::ieee8021TsnRemoteMgmtTxPropagationDelay
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.32.1.2.1.1.1.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> IEEE8021-TSN-REMOTE-MANAGEMENT-MIB::ieee8021TsnRemoteMgmtTxPropagationDelay.1
SNMPv3 example:
snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> ieee8021TsnRemoteMgmtTxPropagationDelay.1
