ieee8021SpbSysBridgePriority

Module: IEEE8021-SPB-MIB

OID (symbolic): IEEE8021-SPB-MIB::ieee8021SpbSysBridgePriority

OID (numeric): 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.26.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: IEEE8021SpbBridgePriority

Access: read-only

Description:

This is a 16 bit quantity which ranks this SPB Bridge relative to others when breaking ties. This priority is the high 16 bits of the Bridge Identifier. Its impact depends on the tie breaking algorithm. Recommend values 0..15 be assigned to core switches to ensure diversity of the ECT Algorithms.

What is ieee8021SpbSysBridgePriority?

This read-only object shows the 16-bit priority value assigned to this Shortest Path Bridging (SPB) bridge, which determines its ranking when multiple SPB bridges compete for election as the topology anchor or root during SPB topology computation. Lower values have better priority. An operator configures this via another object to ensure critical core network switches are preferred as roots, improving convergence behavior and traffic symmetry.
