ieee8021FqtssAdminIdleSlopeMs

Module: IEEE8021-FQTSS-MIB

OID (symbolic): IEEE8021-FQTSS-MIB::ieee8021FqtssAdminIdleSlopeMs

OID (numeric): 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.16.1.1.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: The most significant 32 bits of the bandwidth, in bits per second, that the manager desires to allocate to the traffic class as idleSlope(N). This object MUST be read or written at the same time as ieee8021FqtssAdminIdleSlopeLs, which represents the LS 32 bits of the value, in order for the read or write operation to succeed.

If SRP is supported and in operation, then the reserved bandwidth is determined by the operation of SRP, and any changes to the value of this object have no effect on the operational value of idleSlope(N).

The value of this object MUST be retained across reinitializations of the management system.

What is ieee8021FqtssAdminIdleSlopeMs?

This read-write value sets the most-significant 32 bits of the administratively desired idleSlope bandwidth, in bits per second, for a credit-based-shaper traffic class, defaulting to 0; it must be read or written together with ieee8021FqtssAdminIdleSlopeLs, and if SRP is active it determines the actual operational bandwidth instead, making changes to this object have no operational effect. Admins set it to manually configure a traffic class's target bandwidth allocation when SRP isn't managing it dynamically. For example, in a network without SRP running, an admin would set this together with the LS-bits object to reserve a specific bandwidth, such as 75 Mbps, for time-sensitive AV streams in that traffic class.
