What is proXfaceGenericType?
This value identifies the underlying interface hardware type according to Proteon's internal net identifier scheme, covering dozens of legacy and modern interface types such as Ethernet, Token Ring, X.25, ATM, ISDN PRI, or Fast Ethernet. Admins use it to determine exactly what kind of physical interface a given row in the generic interface table describes, especially useful on chassis with mixed interface cards. Seeing proXfaceGenericType as eth100(64) confirms a given interface is a Fast Ethernet port rather than a legacy 10 Mb Ethernet or serial interface.
