Description: The way multicasts should forwarded on this interface; not forwarded, forwarded as data link multicasts, or forwarded as data link unicasts. Data link multicasting is not meaningful on point to point and NBMA interfaces, and setting ospfv3MulticastForwarding to 0 effectively disables all multicast forwarding.
What is hwOspfv3IfMulticastForwarding?
This read-create setting controls how multicast traffic is forwarded on the interface: blocked (not forwarded at all, the default), multicast (as data-link multicasts), or unicast (individually to each OSPFv3 neighbor). Point-to-point and NBMA interfaces typically don't use the multicast option since data-link multicasting has no meaning there.
