Description: The value of this object identifies whether the broadcast interface is simulated as a P2P interface: enable(1): indicates that the broadcast interface is simulated as a P2P interface. disable(2): indicates that the broadcast interface is not simulated as a P2P interface. By default, broadcast interfaces are not simulated as P2P interfaces.
What is hwIsisCircSimulation?
This makes this broadcast interface behave like a point-to-point interface for IS-IS purposes: enable(1) turns on P2P simulation, disable(2) (the default) leaves it as a normal broadcast interface. Admins enable this on a broadcast-media link (e.g. Ethernet) that in practice only ever has two IS-IS routers on it, to skip DIS election overhead.
