hprIpAppnPortTOSPrecedence

Module: HPR-IP-MIB

OID (symbolic): HPR-IP-MIB::hprIpAppnPortTOSPrecedence

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.34.6.1.5.2.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: AppnTOSPrecedence

Access: read-write

Description: A setting for the three TOS Precedence bits in the IP Type of Service field for this APPN traffic type.

When this value is changed via a Set operation, the new setting for the TOS Precedence bits takes effect immediately, rather

than waiting for some event such as reinitialization of the port or of the APPN node itself.

What is hprIpAppnPortTOSPrecedence?

This read-write object sets the three TOS Precedence bits in the IP Type of Service field applied to APPN traffic sent out this port. Admins adjust it to prioritize or deprioritize this APPN port's IP traffic relative to other traffic in the network, and the new value takes effect immediately on a Set rather than waiting for a port or node reinitialization. Setting hprIpAppnPortTOSPrecedence to a higher precedence value would mark outgoing APPN packets from this port for preferential handling by TOS-aware routers along the path.
