What is hpnicfMPortGroupAddressType?
This read-only object identifies the address family, such as IPv4 or IPv6, of the multicast address stored in the paired hpnicfMPortGroupAddress object for a given port and VLAN entry. It lets a monitoring tool correctly interpret the raw bytes of the group address without guessing its format. For example, seeing ipv4(1) here tells a management station to parse hpnicfMPortGroupAddress as a 4-byte dotted-decimal multicast address like 239.1.1.1.
