hpnicfMinmCapabilities

Module: HPN-ICF-MINM-MIB

OID (symbolic): HPN-ICF-MINM-MIB::hpnicfMinmCapabilities

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.15.2.107.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Bits

Access: read-only

Description: This object displays the MAC-in-MAC capabilities with respect to certain fields. The following values may be supported: reEncapsulation: Support for configuring re-encapsulation (denoted by hpnicfMinmVsiReEncapsulation). uplink: Support for configuring uplink (denoted by hpnicfMinmUplinkTable). vsiShareConnection: It indicates that connection entry is shared in all VSIs. hpnicfVsiIndex is meaningless and must be value 1 in hpnicfMinmConnectionTable.

What is hpnicfMinmCapabilities?

This read-only bitmask reports which optional 802.1ah MAC-in-MAC (Provider Backbone Bridging) capabilities this device supports: reEncapsulation (support for hpnicfMinmVsiReEncapsulation configuration), uplink (support for the hpnicfMinmUplinkTable), and vsiShareConnection (indicating connection entries are shared across all VSIs rather than per-VSI). Admins check it before attempting to configure a given feature, since setting an unsupported capability's related objects would be pointless or fail. For example, a device without the uplink bit set tells an admin the hpnicfMinmUplinkTable isn't usable on this platform, so uplink port assignment must be done some other way.
