Description: The administratively desired CDP Compliance status of the local LLDP a- gent. If the associated hpnicflldpPortConfigCDPComplianceStatus object has a value of 'txAndRx', then the LLDP agent will receive CDP frames on th- is port, and will transmit CDP frames only after receive a CDP frames. If the associated lldpPortConfigAdminStatus object has a value of 'disa- bled', LLDP agent will not transmit or receive CDP frames on this port.

What is hpnicflldpPortConfigCDPComplianceStatus?

This per-port setting controls whether the LLDP agent on a specific interface also handles CDP frames: txAndRx(1) makes the port listen for CDP frames from its neighbor and start transmitting its own once it receives one, while disabled(2) means the port ignores CDP entirely. An admin sets this on ports facing legacy equipment that needs CDP-based discovery rather than LLDP. For example, setting a port connected to an old Cisco IP phone to txAndRx(1) lets the switch detect and reply to that phone via CDP, while a port facing a pure LLDP-only host is left at disabled(2).
