hpicfTR069AcsPasswordEncrypted

Module: HPICF-TR069-MIB

OID (symbolic): HPICF-TR069-MIB::hpicfTR069AcsPasswordEncrypted

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.98.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-write

Description: An encrypted form of the ACS password. The value should be an encrypted password previously read from a compatible HP Networking device. This object can only be read or written when hpSwitchAuthenticationEncryptCredentialsMethod is set to a value other than 'none' and cannot be set at the same time as hpicfTR069AcsPassword.

What is hpicfTR069AcsPasswordEncrypted?

This value holds an encrypted form of the ACS authentication password, usable only when hpSwitchAuthenticationEncryptCredentialsMethod is set to something other than 'none'. It lets an admin copy an already-encrypted password between compatible HP Networking devices without ever exposing the plaintext value, and it cannot be set in the same operation as the plaintext hpicfTR069AcsPassword. For example, an admin cloning TR-069 credentials across a fleet of switches could read hpicfTR069AcsPasswordEncrypted from one device and write that same encrypted value into hpicfTR069AcsPasswordEncrypted on another, without ever handling the plaintext password.
