snVrrpVirRtr2CfgPriority

Module: HP-SN-IP-VRRP-MIB

OID (symbolic): HP-SN-IP-VRRP-MIB::snVrrpVirRtr2CfgPriority

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.7.11.12.2.12.5.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object specifies the priority to be used for the virtual router master election process. Higher values imply higher priority.

A priority of '0', although not settable, is sent by the master router to indicate that this router has ceased to participate in VRRP and a backup virtual router should transition to become a new master.

A priority of 255 is only for VRRP - owner. Not valid for number to configure VRRPE.

What is snVrrpVirRtr2CfgPriority?

This sets the priority (higher wins) used in the virtual router master election; a value of 255 is reserved for the VRRP owner and isn't valid to configure for VRRPE, and priority 0 signals a master relinquishing its role. An admin raises this on the router intended to become master among a set of VRRPE backups.
