newAddressTrap

Module: HP-ICF

OID (symbolic): HP-ICF::newAddressTrap

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.2.0.8

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description:

A newAddressTrap(8) is device type specific to EtherTwist hubs with revision 'E' firmware or later and AdvanceStack hubs. It signifies that a new MAC address has been detected on one of the hub's ports. The instance of rptrAddrTrackLastSourceAddress for the port with the new address is returned in the PDU.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' HP-ICF::newAddressTrap
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.2.0.8

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
