backupLinkTrap
Module: HP-ICF
OID (symbolic): HP-ICF::backupLinkTrap
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.2.0.5
Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE
Description:
A backupLinkTrap(5) is device type specific to most ICF hubs. It signifies that there has been a change in state of rptrPortAdminStatus for a backup port on the hub. The new value of rptrPortAdminStatus is returned in the PDU. Note that in EtherTwist hubs with revision 'D' or earlier firmware, the SNMP-REPEATER-MIB is not supported. These hubs map hub ports to interfaces in the interfaces group of RFC1213-MIB. For these hubs, the variable binding list contains ifAdminStatus for the backup port on the hub instead of rptrPortAdminStatus. Backup links are not supported on the HP28688A hub.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' HP-ICF::backupLinkTrap snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.2.0.5
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
Example snmptrapd log entry:
zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:60967->[192.168.30.10]:162]: DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (248251943) 28 days, 17:35:19.43 SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: HP-ICF::backupLinkTrap
