Description: The authentication type specified for an interface.
What is hpicfDhcpClientAuthType?
This specifies the authentication method, none or MD5, used to secure DHCP exchanges on a given interface. Admins enable MD5 authentication to protect against rogue or spoofed DHCP servers on that interface, requiring a shared key configured via hpicfDhcpClientKeyChain. Setting hpicfDhcpClientAuthType to md5(1) on an interface means the device will only accept DHCP responses that are properly authenticated with the configured key.
