hpicfConnectionRateFilterSensitivity

Module: HP-ICF-CONNECTION-RATE-FILTER

OID (symbolic): HP-ICF-CONNECTION-RATE-FILTER::hpicfConnectionRateFilterSensitivity

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.24.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This variable is for setting the level of filtering required for connection-rate-filter.

What is hpicfConnectionRateFilterSensitivity?

This read-write INTEGER (none(0)/low(1)/medium(2)/high(3)/aggressive(4)), defaulting to none, sets the overall sensitivity level of filtering applied by the connection rate filter. An admin raises this setting to make the switch more readily flag or act on hosts generating unusually high rates of new connections, such as during a suspected worm outbreak or scanning activity. For example, an admin responding to a suspected internal malware outbreak might raise this to aggressive(4) to catch and throttle infected hosts faster.
