hpicfConnectionRateFilterIfModeValue

Module: HP-ICF-CONNECTION-RATE-FILTER

OID (symbolic): HP-ICF-CONNECTION-RATE-FILTER::hpicfConnectionRateFilterIfModeValue

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.24.4.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This variable identifies the mode applied to the host flagged by the connection rate filter.

What is hpicfConnectionRateFilterIfModeValue?

This read-write INTEGER (none(0)/inform(1)/throttle(2)/block(3)), indexed by ifIndex and defaulting to none, configures the mode applied to hosts flagged by the connection rate filter on a specific interface. An admin sets this per interface to decide how aggressively to respond when a host connected on that port is flagged for an abnormal connection rate — logging only, slowing it down, or blocking it. For example, an admin might set this to block(3) on an untrusted access port to automatically cut off hosts exhibiting suspicious connection-flood behavior on that port.
