hpEntLogicalTAddress

Module: HP-ENTITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): HP-ENTITY-MIB::hpEntLogicalTAddress

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.9.1.2.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TAddress

Access: read-only

Description: The transport service address by which the logical entity receives network management traffic, formatted according to the corresponding value of hpEntLogicalTDomain.

For snmpUDPDomain, a TAddress is 6 octets long, the initial 4 octets containing the IP-address in network-byte order and the last 2 containing the UDP port in network-byte order. Consult 'Transport Mappings for Version 2 of the Simple Network Management Protocol' (RFC 1906 [8]) for further information on snmpUDPDomain.

What is hpEntLogicalTAddress?

This holds the transport-layer address, such as an IP address plus UDP port encoded as 6 octets under snmpUDPDomain, at which this logical entity receives network management traffic. Admins use it together with hpEntLogicalTDomain to determine exactly where to direct SNMP requests intended for this specific logical entity. A snmpUDPDomain-formatted value combining an IP address and port 161 tells a manager exactly where to send queries for that logical entity.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.9.1.2.1.1.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> HP-ENTITY-MIB::hpEntLogicalTAddress

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.9.1.2.1.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> HP-ENTITY-MIB::hpEntLogicalTAddress.1
