hpEntConfigChange
Module: HP-ENTITY-MIB
OID (symbolic): HP-ENTITY-MIB::hpEntConfigChange
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.9.2.0.1
Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE
Description: An hpEntConfigChange trap is sent when the value of hpEntLastChangeTime changes. It can be utilized by an NMS to trigger logical/physical entity table maintenance polls.
An agent must not generate more than one hpEntConfigChange 'trap-event' in a five second period, where a 'trap-event' is the transmission of a single trap PDU to a list of trap destinations. If additional configuration changes occur within the five second 'throttling' period, then these trap-events should be suppressed by the agent. An NMS should periodically check the value of hpEntLastChangeTime to detect any missed hpEntConfigChange trap-events, e.g. due to throttling or transmission loss.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' HP-ENTITY-MIB::hpEntConfigChange snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.9.2.0.1
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
Example snmptrapd log entry:
zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:49754->[192.168.30.10]:162]: DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (373790810) 43 days, 6:18:28.10 SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: HP-ENTITY-MIB::hpEntConfigChange
SNMPv3 example:
snmptrap -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3user -a SHA -A "AuthPass1" -x AES -X "PrivPass1" <manager> '' HP-ENTITY-MIB::hpEntConfigChange
