Description: Controls how the device shall allocate IP multicast addresses. A value of 0 means multicast addresses shall be generated using the default allocation algorithm. A value of 1 means multicast addresses shall be allocated according to the values specified in Num Mcast and Mcast Start Addr. The value 2 is reserved.

What is hm2EtherNetIPMcastAllocControl?

Chooses how the device allocates multicast addresses for EtherNet/IP I/O connections: default(0) uses the built-in algorithm, defined(1) uses the explicit range set via hm2EtherNetIPMcastCount/hm2EtherNetIPMcastStartAddress, and reserved(2) is unused. An admin sets defined(1) when multicast addressing needs to be predictable for network planning.
