Module: HH3C-L4RDT-MIB

OID (symbolic): HH3C-L4RDT-MIB::hh3cL4RedirectFreeCacheEntries

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.25506.2.10.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This object indicates the number of entries that may still be added to the hh3cL4RedirectCacheTable.

What is hh3cL4RedirectFreeCacheEntries?

This read-only object reports how many additional entries can still be added to the hh3cL4RedirectCacheTable before the hardware's capacity limit is reached. An admin checks this before provisioning new Web Cache devices to confirm there's room left in the table, since row creation is rejected once the hardware limit is hit. For example, if hh3cL4RedirectFreeCacheEntries reads 0, the admin knows the cache table is full and must remove an existing entry before adding a new cache device.

Start monitoring H3C switches/routers with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Create custom SNMP monitor using the HH3C-L4RDT-MIB::hh3cL4RedirectFreeCacheEntries OID value, configure state conditions and alerts, and monitor any H3C switches/routers from a single console.

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Select an H3C switches/router as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type hh3cL4RedirectFreeCacheEntries into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, then select it and click OK. This object indicates the number of entries that may still be added to the hh3cL4RedirectCacheTable. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is an INTEGER-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the count changes from its expected baseline, since that would indicate the underlying set of items changed unexpectedly. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
