Category: Vendor: H3C/HH3C

Description: Manages the User Plane of H3C Cloud Unified Platform Management, covering forwarding resources and traffic statistics.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-CUPM-UP-MIB?

HH3C-CUPM-UP-MIB manages the User Plane (UP) component of H3C's Cloud Unified Platform Management (CUPM) architecture, used in H3C's virtualized/cloud-oriented network fabric, particularly for VXLAN overlay forwarding. It exposes configuration objects describing VXLAN bridge/tunnel parameters, including VXLAN ID, source and destination address/type, and associated VPN instance name, along with notification objects used to report user-plane events. Its monitoring focus is on the software-defined overlay forwarding state of the data plane rather than physical hardware, letting an administrator confirm that a given VXLAN tunnel endpoint is correctly bound to its source/destination addresses and VPN. It is part of H3C's broader CUPM cloud-management framework and depends on that platform's control-plane components to provision the entries it exposes. It is deployed in H3C SDN/data-center fabric deployments where CUPM orchestrates VXLAN-based overlay networking across user-plane forwarding nodes. Engineers can download the HH3C-CUPM-UP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-CUPM-UP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C data center/cloud fabric switches (User Plane nodes)
  • H3C SDN/CUPM-managed network elements

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would inspect hh3cCupmUpVbVxlanID together with hh3cCupmUpVbSrcAddr, hh3cCupmUpVbDestAddr, and hh3cCupmUpVbVpnName to confirm a VXLAN bridge/tunnel binding matches its intended VPN instance and endpoint addresses. The hh3cCupmUpNotifications/hh3cCupmUpNotifyVarObjects would be watched for events signaling a change or fault in this user-plane binding. A mismatch between the expected hh3cCupmUpVbDestAddr and the address actually configured on a node would indicate a misprovisioned VXLAN tunnel causing overlay traffic to be misdirected.

What Can Be Monitored

  • VXLAN ID of a user-plane binding
  • source and destination address of a VXLAN tunnel
  • VPN instance name associated with a binding
  • user-plane fault/change notifications
