Description: This object enables the manager to trigger a soft restart of the modem at the associated segment endpoint. The manager may only set this object to the 'restart(2)' value, which initiates a restart. The agent will perform a restart after approximately 5 seconds. Following the 5 second period, the agent will restore the object to the 'ready(1)' state.
What is hdsl2ShdslMaintSoftRestart?
Triggers a soft restart of the modem at this segment endpoint when set to restart(2); the agent restarts after about 5 seconds and then reverts this object to ready(1). An admin uses this to remotely bounce a hung modem without a truck roll.
