Description: H3C MIB version 2 for Device Link Detection Protocol (DLDP) with enhanced unidirectional link fault detection.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is H3C-DLDP2-MIB?

H3C-DLDP2-MIB is an H3C proprietary MIB implementing version 2 of the Device Link Detection Protocol (DLDP), a Layer 2 protocol used to detect and automatically shut down unidirectional fiber or copper links before they cause network loops or blackholes. It exposes global DLDP configuration such as enable state, detection interval, authentication mode/password, and unidirectional-shutdown behavior, plus per-port configuration and per-port operational and link status. It supports monitoring both configuration/software state, like whether DLDP is globally enabled, and hardware/link-layer fault detection, since h3cDldp2PortOperStatus and h3cDldp2PortLinkStatus reveal whether a port has been automatically disabled due to a detected unidirectional link fault. It is an H3C-proprietary successor to the vendor's original DLDP MIB with no dependency on IETF standard MIBs, though it complements standard interface (IF-MIB) status objects. It is deployed on H3C switches and routers with fiber or copper uplinks where unidirectional link failures must be detected and isolated automatically. Engineers can download the H3C-DLDP2-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in H3C-DLDP2-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C switch
  • H3C router

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll h3cDldp2PortStatusTable/h3cDldp2PortStatusEntry to see h3cDldp2PortOperStatus and h3cDldp2PortLinkStatus for a given port, catching a port that DLDP has forced down due to a suspected unidirectional fiber fault even though the physical link light is still on. Checking h3cDldp2GlobalEnable and h3cDldp2Interval confirms DLDP is active network-wide and how frequently probe packets are sent before such a fault is detected.

What Can Be Monitored

  • global DLDP enable state
  • detection interval
  • per-port DLDP enable state
  • per-port operational status
  • per-port link status
  • authentication mode configuration
