This field is used to prevent request messages from being lost in the switch because of overflow in the receive buffer. The field is a hint to the controller.

What is gsmpSwitchWindowSize?

This read-create value (1-65535) tells the controller the maximum number of unacknowledged GSMP request messages it may have outstanding at once, protecting the switch's receive buffer from overflow. An admin would raise this on a high-throughput controller-switch link to let more requests be in flight, or lower it if the switch is dropping requests under load.
