gsmpSwitchPartitionType

Module: GSMP-MIB

OID (symbolic): GSMP-MIB::gsmpSwitchPartitionType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.98.1.2.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: GsmpPartitionType

Access: read-create

Description: A switch can assign the specific partition identifier to the session by setting the Partition Type to fixedPartitionAssigned(3). A switch can specify that no partitions are handled in the session by setting the Partition Type to noPartition(1).

What is gsmpSwitchPartitionType?

This read-create value tells the controller how this switch handles partitioning: noPartition(1) for no partitioning, or fixedPartitionAssigned(3) when the switch itself assigns a fixed partition ID (via gsmpSwitchPartitionId). An admin on a partitioned chassis sets this to fixedPartitionAssigned(3) so the switch dictates the partition ID rather than negotiating it.
