gsmpSwitchNotificationMap

Module: GSMP-MIB

OID (symbolic): GSMP-MIB::gsmpSwitchNotificationMap

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.98.1.2.1.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Bits

Access: read-create

Description: This bitmap defines whether a corresponding SNMP notification should be sent if an GSMP event is sent by the Switch Entity. If the bit is set to 1 a notification should be sent. The handling and filtering of the SNMP notifications are then further specified in the SNMP notification originator application.

What is gsmpSwitchNotificationMap?

This read-create bitmask (defaulting to sessionDown, sessionUp, sendFailureIndication, and receivedFailureIndication set) selects which GSMP events on this switch entity generate an SNMP notification, from the same event set as gsmpControllerNotificationMap. An admin enables the deadPortEvent bit here to get an SNMP trap whenever the switch reports a dead port over GSMP.
