OID (symbolic): GSMP-MIB::gsmpSwitchName

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.98.1.2.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: GsmpNameType

Access: read-create

Description: The name of the Switch. The first three octets must be an Organisationally Unique Identifier (OUI) that identifies the manufacturer of the Switch. This is by default set to the same value as the gsmpSwitchId object if not separately specified.

What is gsmpSwitchName?

This read-create value is the switch's GSMP name, whose first three octets must be the manufacturer's OUI; it defaults to the same value as the switch entity ID unless separately set. An admin would only override this from its default when the device needs to advertise a different name than its entity ID to controllers.
