gsmpControllerPartitionType

Module: GSMP-MIB

OID (symbolic): GSMP-MIB::gsmpControllerPartitionType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.98.1.1.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: GsmpPartitionType

Access: read-create

Description: A controller can request the specific partition identifier to the session by setting the Partition Type to fixedPartitionRequest(2). A controller can let the switch decide whether it wants to assign a fixed partition ID or

not, by setting the Partition Type to noPartition(1).

What is gsmpControllerPartitionType?

This read-create value tells the switch how this controller wants to handle switch partitioning: noPartition(1) for no partitioning, or fixedPartitionRequest(2) to ask the switch for a specific partition ID via gsmpControllerPartitionId. An admin managing a partitioned switch chassis sets this to fixedPartitionRequest(2) when the controller needs to control one particular partition.
