This value reports the current size of the monitored file, in bytes. An admin watches this to catch a log file growing unexpectedly large, which could indicate a runaway error condition flooding the log, or to plan disk space management before the file fills the filesystem. A fsFileSize value climbing rapidly compared to its usual growth rate would prompt an admin to check what's generating so much log output.
