Module: FRX-MIB

OID (symbolic): FRX-MIB::portBadFrames

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.177.3.3.2.1.39

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter

Access: read-only

Description: The number of frames dropped by the HDLC controller. Examples of reasons why frames are dropped include receiving a bad CRC and non-octet alignment.

What is portBadFrames?

Counts frames the port's HDLC controller rejected as malformed -- for example a bad CRC checksum or a frame that isn't an exact number of octets -- a hardware/line-quality indicator distinct from the protocol-level drop counters.
