Description: Foundry/Brocade FastIron MIB for IPv6 routing configuration and statistics on FastIron switches and routers.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is FDRY-IPV6-IP-MIB?
FDRY-IPV6-IP-MIB is a Brocade/Foundry proprietary MIB module providing IPv6 routing configuration and statistics for FastIron switching and routing platforms. It exposes objects controlling IPv6 load-sharing (ECMP) behavior and general global IPv6 routing settings. Its monitoring value is chiefly in the software/routing-plane realm, confirming how many equal-cost paths are actively load-shared for IPv6 traffic and whether that feature is enabled, rather than any physical hardware attribute. It is a Foundry proprietary extension used alongside the standard IPV6-MIB and interface MIBs for full IPv6 visibility. It is used on FastIron Layer 3 switches and routers running dual-stack or native IPv6 networks, and administrators can download the FDRY-IPV6-IP-MIB file to load it into their SNMP management software.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in FDRY-IPV6-IP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Brocade/Foundry FastIron Layer 3 switch or router
Monitoring Examples
An admin polls fdryIpv6LoadShare to confirm equal-cost multipath IPv6 routing is enabled and fdryIpv6LoadShareNumOfPaths to see how many paths are actively in use; a drop in the reported path count after a link failure would reveal that IPv6 traffic is now concentrated on fewer paths than the design intended.
What Can Be Monitored
- IPv6 load-share enabled state
- number of active ECMP paths for IPv6
- global IPv6 routing configuration
