mplsTunnelRedundancyType

Module: EXTREME-MPLS-TE-MIB

OID (symbolic): EXTREME-MPLS-TE-MIB::mplsTunnelRedundancyType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1916.1.37.2.2.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Identifies the tunnel redundancy type associated with this tunnel instance. A value of primary(1) or secondary(2) MAY be assigned by the network administrator or by an SNMP manager at the time of setting up the tunnel.

What is mplsTunnelRedundancyType?

This value marks whether an MPLS TE tunnel instance is designated the primary path or the secondary backup path within a redundancy group. An admin assigns this when setting up two tunnels as a protected pair, so the network knows which one should carry traffic under normal conditions and which is the standby. Setting this to secondary(2) on a backup tunnel would mark it as the standby path that only becomes active if the primary tunnel fails.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1916.1.37.2.2.1.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> EXTREME-MPLS-TE-MIB::mplsTunnelRedundancyType

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1916.1.37.2.2.1.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> EXTREME-MPLS-TE-MIB::mplsTunnelRedundancyType.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1916.1.37.2.2.1.1.1.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> mplsTunnelRedundancyType.1
