Module: EXPRESSGS-MIB

OID (symbolic): EXPRESSGS-MIB::expressGSVirtualSwitchPortBindingType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.13.7.4.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: The method by which this switch port was bound to the VLAN. If the value is static(1), the binding was manually created by the administrator. If the value is persistent(2), the binding was created by the switch because the VLAN is the port-based VLAN for the switch port, or the switch port VLAN Binding Method is persistent. These bindings may not be removed. If the value is dynamic(3), the binding was created by the switch as a result of receiving a tagged frame on the switch port with a VLAN ID corresponding to the VLAN.

What is expressGSVirtualSwitchPortBindingType?

Indicates how this port became a member of the VLAN: static(1) (manually created by an admin), persistent(2) (automatic because the VLAN is the port's default VLAN or the port's binding method is persistent -- these cannot be removed), or dynamic(3) (automatically created upon receiving a tagged frame for the VLAN). An admin trying to remove a stale VLAN membership checks this first, since a persistent(2) binding cannot simply be deleted.
