expressGSSwitchPortVlanBindingMethod

Module: EXPRESSGS-MIB

OID (symbolic): EXPRESSGS-MIB::expressGSSwitchPortVlanBindingMethod

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.13.5.2.1.1.10

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The VLAN binding method of a switch port specifies the way in which the port can be a member of the egress lists of VLANs other than the port default VLAN specified by expressGSSwitchPortVlanID: static: A Virtual Switch Port must be statically created for each VLAN/port combination. persistent: A Virtual Switch Port is automatically created for each VLAN known to the switch (i.e., the port is a member of the egress lists of all VLANs). dynamic: A Virtual Switch Port is automatically created for each VLAN when the associated VLAN ID is used as a tag in an IEEE 802.1Q or Multi-level tagged frame received on the port (i.e., the port is a member of the egress lists of the VLANs from frames received on the port).

The default is static.

What is expressGSSwitchPortVlanBindingMethod?

Controls how this switch port becomes a member of VLANs other than its default port-based VLAN: static(1) (manually created per VLAN/port), persistent(2) (auto-member of every known VLAN), or dynamic(3) (auto-joins a VLAN on receiving a tagged frame for it). An admin sets persistent(2) on a trunk port carrying all VLANs to every access switch, and static(1) when tight, explicit control of VLAN membership per port is required.
