expressGSSwitchPortIgnoreTag

Module: EXPRESSGS-MIB

OID (symbolic): EXPRESSGS-MIB::expressGSSwitchPortIgnoreTag

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.13.5.2.1.1.11

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Each switch port is capable of ignoring the VLAN Tag associated with a frame in a trunking format. When ignored, the tag is used as the default in the event that a VLAN classification based on the switch's policy(s) cannot be made.

This feature is useful for connecting layer 2 VLANs and layer 3 VLANs. The default is useTag.

What is expressGSSwitchPortIgnoreTag?

Controls whether the port honors (useTag(1), default) or ignores (ignoreTag(2)) the VLAN tag on trunked frames when a VLAN classification otherwise cannot be determined, useful for connecting layer-2 and layer-3 VLANs together. An admin sets ignoreTag(2) specifically to bridge tagged traffic into a differently-classified layer-3 VLAN boundary.

Examples

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> EXPRESSGS-MIB::expressGSSwitchPortIgnoreTag

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.13.5.2.1.1.11.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> EXPRESSGS-MIB::expressGSSwitchPortIgnoreTag.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.13.5.2.1.1.11.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> expressGSSwitchPortIgnoreTag.1
