expressGSBridgePortFastStart
Module: EXPRESSGS-MIB
OID (symbolic): EXPRESSGS-MIB::expressGSBridgePortFastStart
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.13.5.1.3.1.1.11
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This object is being replaced by the switch port object expressGSSwitchPortFastStart. When this bridge port object is set to enable(1), the bridge port and all other bridge ports on the same switch port, transition right from blocking to forwarding, skipping the listening and learning states. When this bridge port object is set to disable(2), the bridge port and all other bridge ports on the same switch port have this option disabled. The user should be warned that using the fast start feature greatly increases the likelihood of unintended network loops that would otherwise be prevented by participating in the normal spanning tree algorithm.
The factory default value for this object is disable(2).
What is expressGSBridgePortFastStart?
A deprecated toggle (superseded by expressGSSwitchPortFastStart) that, when enabled(1), lets this bridge port and its siblings on the same switch port skip listening/learning and jump straight to forwarding, at the cost of increased loop risk if the network isn't truly loop-free. An admin migrating off this deprecated object should configure the equivalent switch-port-level setting instead.
