es1000PortHportAdmStatus

Module: ES-1000-MIB

OID (symbolic): ES-1000-MIB::es1000PortHportAdmStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.289.2.1.1.3.3.4.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Es1000PortAdmStatus

Access: read-write

Description: The desired state of the H_Port. A management station may place the H_Port in a desired state by setting this object accordingly. The testing(3) state indicates that no user frames can be passed. As the result of either explicit management action or per configuration information accessible by the switch, the es1000PortHportAdmStatus is changed to either the online(1) or testing(3) states, or remains in the offline(2) state.

What is es1000PortHportAdmStatus?

This value lets an admin place an H_Port into a desired administrative state: online(1) to pass traffic, offline(2) to take it out of service, or testing(3), which blocks user frames while diagnostics run. Setting this remotely lets an admin isolate a specific host or storage connection for maintenance without physically unplugging the device. After running loop diagnostics with testing(3), the port would be set back to online(1) to restore normal device access.
