Module: ES-1000-MIB
OID (symbolic): ES-1000-MIB::es1000PortBportAdmStatus
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.289.2.1.1.3.3.3.1.5
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Access: read-write
Description: The desired state of the B_Port. A management station may place the B_Port in a desired state by setting this object accordingly. The testing(3) state indicates that no user frames can be passed. As the result of either explicit management action or per configuration information accessible by the B_Port, the es1000PortBportAdmStatus is changed to either the online(1) or testing(3) states, or remains in the offline(2) state.
What is es1000PortBportAdmStatus?
This value lets an admin place a B_Port into a desired administrative state: online(1) to pass traffic, offline(2) to take it out of service, or testing(3), which blocks user frames while diagnostics run. Setting this remotely lets an admin isolate a specific inter-switch link for maintenance or troubleshooting without physically unplugging it. After setting testing(3) to run link diagnostics, the port would be set back to online(1) to restore normal fabric traffic.
