What Is ERICSSON-ROUTER-L2VPN-CAP?
ERICSSON-ROUTER-L2VPN-CAP is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module that describes how the Ericsson SEOS SNMP agent on SmartEdge, SM, and SSR routers implements the vendor's own ERICSSON-ROUTER-L2VPN-MIB, which manages Layer 2 VPN services. It contains no operational data itself, only a statement of which L2VPN objects, tables, and notifications are supported (and any deviations) for a given product release. Because it maps directly to the L2VPN MIB, it is relevant to monitoring the software-level configuration and operational status of L2VPN circuits (a service-availability concern) rather than physical hardware health. Its explicit dependency is on ERICSSON-ROUTER-L2VPN-MIB, the base module it profiles. This is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES module with no runtime objects of its own to poll, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe beyond declaring supported features of ERICSSON-ROUTER-L2VPN-MIB. A management system would use it only to confirm, prior to real polling, which L2VPN pseudowire or virtual-circuit objects a specific SEOS release actually implements.
