etsysVlanInterfaceIfIndex

Module: ENTERASYS-VLAN-INTERFACE-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-VLAN-INTERFACE-MIB::etsysVlanInterfaceIfIndex

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.22.1.3.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: InterfaceIndexOrZero

Access: read-only

Description: For conceptual rows in the active(1) state, this object returns the ifIndex of the interface mapped to this VLAN. The value of the ifIndex is determined by the agent on the managed entity.

This object will return 0 (zero) when the conceptual row is in the notInService(2) state.

What is etsysVlanInterfaceIfIndex?

For an active row in etsysVlanInterfaceTable, this object returns the ifIndex of the MIB-II interface that has been dynamically created and mapped to the VLAN identified by etsysVlanInterfaceVlanID; it returns 0 when the row is in the notInService state. Admins use this to find the actual interface index to reference in other MIB-II tables (like ifTable or ifXTable) once a VLAN interface has been provisioned through this row. For example, after setting etsysVlanInterfaceRowStatus to active for VLAN 100, this field might return ifIndex 5001, which the admin then uses to check that interface's counters elsewhere.
