etsysSshRekeyIntervalSeconds

Module: ENTERASYS-SSH-SERVER-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-SSH-SERVER-MIB::etsysSshRekeyIntervalSeconds

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.26.1.3.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Specifies the number of seconds after which the key exchange is done again. A value of 0 (zero) turns re-key requests off. This does not prevent the client from requesting re-keys. Note that not all clients support this function.

What is etsysSshRekeyIntervalSeconds?

This deprecated, read-write INTEGER (0..65535), in seconds, specifies how often the SSH session's key exchange is repeated, with 0 turning off server-initiated re-key requests (though it doesn't prevent the client from requesting one, and not all clients support the feature). Admins set a nonzero interval to periodically refresh session keys on long-lived SSH connections as a security best practice. For example, setting this to 3600 would force a key re-exchange every hour on sessions that stay open that long.
