etsysSshAdminKeyType

Module: ENTERASYS-SSH-SERVER-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-SSH-SERVER-MIB::etsysSshAdminKeyType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.26.1.5.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Determines the type of the key pair to be (re)created on the next key (re)creation operation. The etsysSshOperKeyType object returns the type of key that is currently being used by the SSH server.

What is etsysSshAdminKeyType?

This deprecated, read-write INTEGER selects which key algorithm and length (from dsa768/rsa768 up through dsa3072/rsa3072, plus dsa512/rsa512) will be used the next time the SSH host key pair is (re)created, distinct from etsysSshOperKeyType which reports what's actually in use. Admins raise this to a stronger key size like rsa2048 before triggering etsysSshGenerateHostKeys to strengthen the device's SSH identity. For example, setting this to rsa2048(6) and then regenerating keys would upgrade the device from a weaker default rsa1024 host key.
