etsysRadiusAuthClientRetryTimeoutEncrypt

Module: ENTERASYS-RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-ENCRYPT-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-ENCRYPT-MIB::etsysRadiusAuthClientRetryTimeoutEncrypt

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.5.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: RadiusEncryptedString

Access: read-write

Description: The number of seconds to wait for a RADIUS Server to respond to a request. This parameter value is maintained across system reboots. This object's true data type is 1, Integer32.

What is etsysRadiusAuthClientRetryTimeoutEncrypt?

This object carries an encrypted version of the RADIUS client's retry-timeout value: the number of seconds the client waits for a RADIUS server to answer an authentication request, encoded as an octet string that decrypts to an Integer32. It exists because the standard RADIUS Authentication Client MIB (RFC 2618) has no writable objects, so this proprietary object lets an SNMPv1 management station securely set the wait timeout using the MIB's shared-secret/MD5 encryption scheme, and its value persists across reboots. For example, a management station might encrypt and set this object to raise the timeout from 3 to 10 seconds on a client whose RADIUS server is across a slow WAN link, reducing spurious retry storms.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-ENCRYPT-MIB::etsysRadiusAuthClientRetryTimeoutEncrypt

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.5.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-ENCRYPT-MIB::etsysRadiusAuthClientRetryTimeoutEncrypt.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.5.1.1.1 s <value>
